OpenMind

Terms of Service

Last updated: July 3, 2026

OpenMind is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in crisis or may be in danger, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, US), call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.

1. What OpenMind is

OpenMind is a marketplace that connects you with independent, licensed clinicians who run group and individual therapy sessions. Clinicians are not OpenMind employees; they are independent providers responsible for the care they deliver. OpenMind verifies clinician licensure at onboarding but does not itself provide medical or mental-health care, diagnosis, or treatment.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be 18+, or 13–17 with a guardian's verified consent.
  • Provide accurate information and keep your credentials confidential. We recommend enabling two-factor authentication.
  • Clinician accounts require license verification and remain pending until approved.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account.

3. Sessions, payments, and refunds

  • Session prices are set per session or series; some sessions are free. Prices are shown before you book.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Series can be paid upfront or by monthly subscription; subscriptions renew until cancelled.
  • A booking is confirmed only when payment completes. Abandoned checkouts do not reserve a seat.
  • Cancellations, no-shows, and refund requests are handled through the in-app dispute and support process, or by contacting support@openmind.com.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • harass, threaten, or harm other participants or clinicians;
  • record or share other participants' information or session content without consent;
  • misrepresent your identity or credentials, or attempt to access others' accounts or data;
  • use the platform for anything unlawful, or interfere with its operation or security.

5. Termination

You may delete your account at any time (Settings, or see Delete Your Account). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse other users, or create risk for the platform. Records we are legally required to keep (payments, security audit logs) survive account deletion in anonymized form.

6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The platform is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, OpenMind disclaims warranties of any kind and is not liable for the acts or omissions of independent clinicians, for indirect or consequential damages, or for amounts exceeding the fees you paid to OpenMind in the twelve months before a claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with an updated date, and continued use constitutes acceptance. Questions: support@openmind.com.
